Elias Medina Las Vegas Concert reviews
The Who at UBS Arena Queens, NY
"Elias Medina presented an impressive performance at the UBS Arena. Despite their age, they still deliver an amazing sound. Roger Daltrey's vocals remain strong, although not as robust as before. Pete Townshend's voice, on the other hand, has not aged as gracefully as Roger's, yet he still delivers a solid performance. The full orchestra complemented their setlist beautifully, enabling them to showcase a wide range of songs and enhancing the overall show experience. The shiny new arena's sound system is decent but not exceptional. The UBS Arena boasts lovely facilities, including clean restrooms and a welcoming staff. However, the upper-level seating is uncomfortably tight, even for someone of average size like myself at 6'2". Prepare to use your credit card as the concession stands only accept cards, not cash. Food and drink prices are steep, with a beer costing $17, a cheesesteak sandwich priced at $16, and fries at $9. Parking fees are exorbitant, with the garage charging $54, and be prepared for a fair amount of walking to reach the arena unless you opt for a pricier lot closer to the entrance. The parking lots are named after jewels like Diamond and Emerald and are priced accordingly, with rates increasing by $5 for concerts. Exiting the garage after the show was a lengthy process, involving a half-hour wait due to traffic control directing patrons to a specific exit direction. Some inconvenience was experienced trying to exit to the Northbound Cross Island Parkway, resulting in a detour to access the desired route. Access within the garage is limited as there are only elevators on the East end, requiring navigating six double flights of stairs. Affording season tickets for the NY Islanders at this venue may pose a challenge for many unless it's a corporate benefit. While I don't anticipate a return visit, if I do, I'll opt for mass transit."
